I’m very excited to share this with you all…yesterday I was in the Nottingham Post paper! I wrote a fashion feature for their weekender section where I discussed key trends and my own inspirations. Have a look at the images and read the full feature below…
NOTTINGHAM POST FEATURE | 16.01.16
Working as a stylist at Outfit I dress women of all shapes and sizes on a daily basis. Over the festive period I was working with sequins, metallic fabrics and a lot of glitter! This season is a little different – the S/S collections feature soft tailoring, caramel tones and longline jackets. Think along the lines of Alexa Chung.
January is a good time to re-stock on your capsule wardrobe and utilise the sales by scooping up the classic lines rather than impulse buys. If we look back to last year, we saw a reinvigoration of 70’s fashion, with fabrics like corduroy and suede making an appearance in the form of biker jackets, A-Line skirts & shift dresses. Not to worry if you have invested heavily in this look as this seasons trend is taking a swing back to the 60’s! This is the perfect opportunity to pair your recently loved items with some big prints such as paisley and also team up with brightly coloured accessories such as platform shoes or teal leather gloves.
Blogging is a huge part of my life & it’s a lot of fun. Soon after I launched my blog (www.beccioshea.com) I started linking up with other people who shared my passion for styling. Nowadays I check my Instagram account for daily inspiration.
Aside from social media, I also take a lot of inspiration from my clients. What I’ve learnt from them is not to be tied in by what is popular – keep in mind what you love most about fashion and incorporate and modify with new trends. This way you stay true to your own sense of style and keep your look fresh.
