MARBLE NAILS TUTORIAL

IMG_6173

This week I wanted to share with you a super easy nail art effect. For a while now I’ve been obsessed with all things marble, I love the simple, monochrome design and when I came across a photo on Instagram of some marble nail art, I had to recreate it!

This clean and elegant design looks best with an all black or matching monochrome outfit and the same marble technique can be applied on top of any colour. To achieve this stunning nail effect, read my step by step tutorial below!

STEP ONE

Remove any old polish with True Brit London’s new Strawberries and Cream acetone free remover. I like to use circular cotton pads.
TIP: Hold the pad on the nail for 10 seconds and then wipe off.
STEP TWO

Buff nails and shape before applying any varnish. Short squared nails look great with the marble effect.
STEP THREE

Protect your nail with Nails Inc A&E base coat. I swear by this product, it prevents flaking and prolongs the colour applied on top.
STEP FOUR

Apply a coat of Essie nail polish in the shade ‘Blanc’, allow 30 seconds to dry and apply another coat to give your nails a more solid colour.

Allow to dry! While you wait why not catch up on some of my previous posts here!

STEP SIX

Using Collection 2000’s fast stroke eye-liner in black draw lines onto each nail in a marbled pattern, you can take some inspo from the images below…Also, as long as you apply the liner on dry nails, you can use this for your eyes too, it’s one of the best quick drying liners I’ve ever used!
TIP: Alternate thick and thin strokes and don’t be scared to be creative!

Allow the liner to dry (30 seconds/1 minute) then apply OPI’s Top Coat to keep it super shiny and chip free!
