So as some of you may already know I’ve relocated back to my hometown of London and last week my good friend and fellow blogger babe Lauren came down to see me before an event – which called for shopping! We visited the one and only Selfridges first and browsed the designer jewellery sections on the first floor and that’s when I fell in love…
In the Chanel section, I spotted a coin style necklace on one of the mannequins which they’d styled with a classic two piece blazer and skirt suit. The necklace caught my eye as soon as I walked in because of its intricate detail and striking design. After seeing the full selection and trying on several items, Lauren and I decided to go to the Chanel flagship store on New Bond Street to browse their collection and compare it to Selfridges.
When we arrived I basically became the love heart eye emoji and got a little bit excited about the new A/W accessories campaign, not to mention the ready to wear capsule collection on the first floor! When one of the advisers approached us, I explained what I had seen at the Selfridges concession and the assistant then showed us their jewellery display. The Chanel flagship had a much bigger and varied selection of jewellery, I would recommend visiting the store as opposed to Selfridges, I would point out that the service is much better at the Chanel store too.
The necklace itself is timeless. The medallion style is similar to the vintage Chanel pieces which sell for over £16,000 on the vintage classic markets and the rich deep golden colour gives it that high end designer edge.
What I like best about the necklace is how you can adjust it to suit your mood. The necklace has two length options both of which I love.
When the necklace is set to its shorter length which is near enough a choker style, the excess golden chain hangs down your back with the tiny Chanel logo at the bottom. This style is absolutely ideal to wear with backless dresses along with a slick up-do to show off the stunning design.
The second longer setting is the one I choose to wear on a day to day basis as it looks fabulous either over a top or hanging down underneath a shirt.
For anyone looking for that perfect accessory to add instant style to any outfit this necklace is for you. It’s the perfect combination of class and elegance, its understated small detailing is eye catching in an enchanting way. I find a lot of designer necklaces to be very ‘in your face’ and brash – this piece is the opposite.
Another benefit to this necklace is that the beautiful design is so striking that it doesn’t need earrings, bracelets or even rings to match. Less really is more when it comes to accessorising an outfit.
If this post has inspired you to shop, I can recommend my adviser Yaneff at Chanel New Bond Street for appointments.
