SS16 EDIT RAILS

IMG_2761

Working as a stylist I am constantly looking for fresh inspiration – day to day I find myself flicking through Vogue magazine and increasing my knowledge of the current key trends  (it’s like a bible to me!)… So when I decided to put together two brand new Edit Rails, I reached for my SS16 Vogue guide and got to work…

AFTER DARK REBEL

My first Edit Rail is all about lace, mesh and leather with a sports luxe twist. This trend was recently seen on the Burberry runway and is the ideal rebellious alternative to the Pastal palettes seen across the brands.

IMG_2762.JPG

STYLE NOTE: Play with different textures. Add a Warehouse Leather Jacket to a Topshop Mesh Insert Crop top for an edgy, modern take on the classic Rock Chic look.

FOLK LOVE

Folk Love features relaxed chiffon shirts, 70’s floral and delicate beaded jewellery. This particular collection has a strong festival feel to it, the soft tailoring gives the rail a carefree attitude and this seasons layering rule means the trend is easy and ready to wear. My vision for this rail was a subtle reminder that summer is around the corner. The combination of fresh floral prints and a contrasting burnt orange palette remind us of warm sunsets.

STYLE NOTE: Mix monochrome Aztec prints with a knee length Dorothy Perkins floral Kimono for extra style points.

All garments available at Outfit.

NOTTINGHAM POST FEATURE | 16.01.16

FULL ARTICLE

Working as a stylist at Outfit I dress women of all shapes and sizes on a daily basis. Over the festive period I was working with sequins, metallic fabrics and a lot of glitter! This season is a little different – the S/S collections feature soft tailoring, caramel tones and longline jackets. Think along the lines of Alexa Chung.

January is a good time to re-stock on your capsule wardrobe and utilise the sales by scooping up the classic lines rather than impulse buys. If we look back to last year, we saw a reinvigoration of 70’s fashion, with fabrics like corduroy and suede making an appearance in the form of biker jackets, A-Line skirts & shift dresses. Not to worry if you have invested heavily in this look as this seasons trend is taking a swing back to the 60’s! This is the perfect opportunity to pair your recently loved items with some big prints such as paisley and also team up with brightly coloured accessories such as platform shoes or teal leather gloves.

Blogging is a huge part of my life & it’s a lot of fun. Soon after I launched my blog (www.beccioshea.com) I started linking up with other people who shared my passion for styling. Nowadays I check my Instagram account for daily inspiration.

Aside from social media, I also take a lot of inspiration from my clients. What I’ve learnt from them is not to be tied in by what is popular – keep in mind what you love most about fashion and incorporate and modify with new trends. This way you stay true to your own sense of style and keep your look fresh.

New Year Motivation

IMG_9987

The beginning of the new year is the perfect time to set yourself new goals – but before setting these new targets I always think it’s important to look back at the past year and think about what you’ve already achieved. Instead of focusing on what you haven’t done, think about what you have. Write down ten things you’ve achieved last year and give yourself the credit you deserve. Once you realised how far you’ve come think about how you can use this year to get closer towards your goals.

IMG_9956

This year it could be that you want to travel more and experience different cultures or it might be that you want to further your career. If you set yourself 5 goals which are specific to the different areas of your life you can work between them and if you find one more challenging than the others – you will still be making progress.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

So what now? The only way your going to achieve these goals is by setting yourself realistic targets and by changing certain aspects of your life.

One of my favourite quotes which I live by is ‘Nothing changes if nothing changes’ it’s so simple & couldn’t be more true. If you want to better yourself you need to make changes to see results.

IMG_9955

My tips on staying motivated:

  1. Achieving personal goals takes time, stick with it and be mindful about how hard you push yourself
  2. Reward yourself. For example, if your New Years goal is to save money, once you’ve reached your first target why not treat yourself to that new handbag you’ve been eyeing up? (Maybe not the £3,500 Prada one though..!) Balance is important as it keeps you motivated, set little milestones to work towards.
  3. Remind yourself why you’re doing this. If you are planning to get fit this year, think about why that’s important to you. If loosing those few pounds will make you feel more confident then that’s what is going to help you stick to your regime. Have your end goal in close sight at all times.
  4. Don’t push yourself too hard. Life is too short not to enjoy it.
  5. Don’t go it alone! Chances are there is someone close by who is doing the exact same thing as you. Link up with local support groups in your area and build relationships with people who will help to keep you motivated on your journey to success.
  6. Be the change you want to see. Even if you don’t have a New Years resolution why not inspire others and aim to help the people around you reach their goals.

I’d also like to take this moment to thank every single one of you for following my blog in 2015, it means the world to me! I hope every one of you had a fantastic Christmas and I wish you the very best for 2016.

COCOSWISH

IMG_7248

Last week I shot a super exciting Christmas themed advert for Outfit fashion! During the shoot in London I wore a selection of the in house brands including Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge.

In the lead up I was extremely excited but also a little worried about looking my best for the camera! So when COCOSWISH landed on my doorstep I was so excited to try it!

Oil pulling is an ancient dental technique which draws out toxins and bad bacteria from your teeth and gums. This method has been tried and tested for many years and has had fantastic results.

Each sachet from COCOSWISH contains the organic coconut oil formula which you swish around in your mouth for between 5-15 minutes on a daily basis. This natural and safe alternative to teeth whitening has become incredibly popular in recent times and Australian brand Cocoswish is at the forefront of its revival!
IMG_7159

The pack included 14 sachets in 3 different flavours (mint, vanilla & lemon) I’m almost half way through and I’m still trying to decide which flavour I like best, they’re all amazing!

On the day of the shoot I felt a lot more confident and I also noticed how clean and healthy my mouth feels. I’m incredibly pleased already with the results I’ve seen over the last 4 days and I’m excited to see the end result after the 14 day course.

FATE LUXURY

IMG_6014

This Halloween I didn’t really get many treats (apart from one of those tiny bags of haribo!) So, I was really excited when Fate Luxury contacted me to tell me they were launching their brand new website and wanted to send me a little treat in the post!

FANTASY SET

Blue is my favourite colour so it is hardly surprising I couldn’t take my eyes off this beautiful Fantasy Lingerie Set in ‘Light Blue’ the stunning icy tone is so unusual and eye catching, I’ve never seen this colour used in a lingerie line before so it was refreshing to try something new. When I tried on the bralet I was surprised at how supportive it was! Finally! A cute bralet that actually does the job of a bra! The super soft under wiring provides you with just the right amount of support without feeling tight or restrictive and the straps are fully adjustable allowing you to find your perfect fit.

I especially love the black caging detail against the delicate lace. Fate Luxury have re-written the rules and produced an incredible lingerie collection, think along the lines of Agent Provocateur with a colourful twist. Their gorgeous pieces wouldn’t look out of place on the famous Victoria’s Secret runway shows and this set at just £30.99 belongs in every girls knicker draw.

CONFIDENCE

Recently I’ve just started a new job as a style team manager, so I’ve been super busy training stylists and organising business trips (I’m sure you all know how hard it is to find time for yourself when you have a full work schedule!) So unfortunately underwear shopping has been at the bottom of my list for a while.

When you work full time or if you have children it can be hard to find a moment to yourself which is why Fate Luxury is my new go-to underwear shop. Their brand new website allows you to order items to be delivered to your door.. meaning you can browse, shop and pay securely with a few clicks.

I’m a huge believer that confidence comes from within, to me there is nothing sexier than someone who is sure of themselves and is confident enough to dress the way they want to. Fate Luxury understands women and knows exactly want we need to feel comfortable in our own skin. The soft luxurious lace feels like silk and fits your curves perfectly, this combined with the subtle yet sexy harnessing detail adds a playful edge. The three piece set comes complete with bralet, knickers and suspender belt which I would recommend teaming up with their Coquette Stockings for the ultimate ensemble!

I’m really excited to see what else Fate Luxury have in store as I was so impressed by the quality and design of the garments I received, this brand is definitely one to keep your eye on!

TRUE BRIT LONDON | A/W COLLECTION

86DF207D-4510-4846-9007-0A39EBD0B498

The other night I was reading through Vogue and I was so proud to see True Brit London featured in the beauty section! If you’ve followed my blog for a while you will know this luxury brand well – I was lucky enough to receive their S/S collection and feature them in my Festival Lookbook and now I bring to you their perfectly crafted A/W collection just in time for the festive season!
I always love to receive packages from True Brit as they just look so pretty! The black casing and ribbons are so cute and make opening the box even more exciting!
I absolutely love the new collection – when I opened the box I was stunned at how amazing the colours look together – every single polish is beautiful and has its own name, which makes it fun to pick your favourite or even to buy as a gift for someone…the new collection features ‘Plum Pudding’, ‘Country Life’, ‘Stately Home’, ‘Bulldog’, ‘Waterloo’, ‘Park Lane’ and the golden showstopper ‘Crown Jewels’ (which I’ve already decided I’m going to wear on New Year’s Eve!)
Another one of the reasons I love True Brit is that they pay close attention to detail, from the unique colours they create, down to the stylish chunky glass bottles. It’s that touch of luxury that that makes all the difference.
For Autumn I’m loving True Brit London’s new shade ‘Park Lane’ the blue green tone is the ideal nail colour for this season and the high shine glossy finish gives you that fresh manicure feeling! Their polish formula is blended with Vitamin E and rose extract which means your natural nails underneath get some much needed TLC. Their caviar base coat enriched with vitamins nourishes your nail and creates an even surface for your chosen colour.

HOW TO WEAR A CROP TOP IN AUTUMN

IMG_4754

On a recent shopping trip to Topshop I fell in love with a simple grey crop top…but we’re in Autumn!
It sounds a bit crazy putting a crop top on when it’s getting colder outside, but when styled the right way it can refresh your look and pull together a gorgeous outfit.
Rule No. 1: You don’t have to show too much skin
Crop tops don’t have to mean lots of skin on show, it’s time to change that!  When wearing a crop top in Autumn, style it with a high waisted skirt or jeans so that the crop top sits just below the waist line. Layering is big this season, get the look from Tokyo Fashion Week and start playing around with different textures.

 IMG_4841BECCIOSHEA.COM LOVES
Play with knitted fabrics, layer over leather shorts or wax jeans
for a high fashion runway look. Image from Tokyo FW.
Rule No.2 Don’t be scared to wear a slogan top.
My favourite crop top this season is by Topshop. I styled the top with a pair of black high waisted leggings, pair of over the knee boots and a black fedora hat.
IMG_4754
This outfit has now become my go-to Autumn look, this style is a huge favourite amongst many celebrities and bloggers. Have a look at Poppy Delevingne below at the MIU MIU show, I love how she is wearing a crop top with a huge shaggy fur coat. She oozes effortless cool.

Rule No.3: Be Yourself
Fashion is unique and so are you, find the right crop top that you feel comfortable in and style it how you like.
Don’t be afraid to try something new.
