THE RE-BRAND: ESSENCE OF HARRIS

I’m so excited to share this post with you all as I feel like working with this brand sums up perfectly the reasons why I love being a blogger. For those of you who have followed my blog for a little while – you may have read my previous post back in April reviewing Buth Bheag Candle Co.

Since the spring this luxury brand has gone from strength to strength with the help of bloggers and influencers from across the UK sharing the love for their stunning range of products. They have now landed themselves over 30 stockists and two brand new shops.

Sometimes when a project or new venture takes shape and naturally progresses a re-brand can be a really exciting and refreshing way to move forward and celebrate the success you’ve made. When the team announced the re-brand I instantly couldn’t wait to see what this meant for them as a company; I was pleasantly suprised to see that they are still taking their inspiration from their beautiful home of the Scottish Isles by keeping their scents named after the many beaches that make up the stunning coastline.

SENT WITH LOVE

When I opened the parcel up to reveal the two beautifully packaged items I thought for a moment what good gifts they would make. The re-brand has taken on a slightly more mature, sophisticated vibe.

You can tell as soon as you open the box that it’s a luxury item – from the on trend marble exterior to the minimal, slick glassware. Each and every perfectly executed little detail completely sets Essence of Harris apart from the other brands on the market. Everything down to their scent collections, packaging and brand story is unique and you truly feel like you have a little bit of paradise in your home when you purchase from them.

Each scent collection comes in a different colour palette, each with rose gold lettering which makes the new range ideal for gifts with the festive season coming around.

Another reason that makes this new collection special is the fact they’ve gone right back to basics by discussing how each of the candles and reed diffusers are made on the side of the packaging. Absolutely every single item is hand-poured with love in the Isle of Harris and you can even learn more about the creators of the brand on the ‘Our Team’ section of their website.
WINTER SCENT REVIEW:
SEILEBOST
EofH_3wick_2048x1365_seilebost_grande

A sophisticated, deep and sensual scent with top notes of pomegranate, plum and rose.
(Black Pomegranate Reed Diffuser, £17. Available at http://www.essenceofharris.co.uk)
Warm, cosy and not too overpowering. It’s also a very natural scent, sometimes in the past I’ve purchased room sprays and diffusers that are way too strong and almost have an artificial scent.
Each of their diffuser ranges come the 100ml size which will usually last for up to 12 weeks. Ideal for Christmas in the living room or bedroom.

CANDLE SCOOP | THE SCENTS YOU NEED THIS CHRISTMAS

img_1835

This week I received a very special package from my favourite candle brand Buth Bheag Candle co. You may have already read about this brand on my blog back in April this year where I reviewed two candles from both the Losgaintir and Huisinins collection. You can catch up here.

Since my last post the company has been going from strength to strength with mini pop up shops and the launch of several new fragrances. It’s always a joy to collaborate with independent, ambitious brands that have created a unique and exciting product; Buth Bheag Candle Co. are the ultimate pleasure to work with, from the team to the products, it’s the ultimate luxury experience.

In this post I’m going to review two products each from new collections that have launched this year – both of which I absolutely love! Plus, this is my first festive post of the year which makes me so excited!

Cranberry Christmas Candle

img_1818

“A festive combination of cranberries, orange and cinnamon with floral back notes on a base of sandal, cedar, musk vanilla and sugar.”

If like me, you love Christmas and all things festive, you have to get your hands on the new Christmas collection. When I first opened the box the scent reminded me of all things festive and when lit, the candle fills the room with a gorgeous rich fragrance. I wanted to point out that a lot of scented Christmas candles can become quite headachey after a while but this one is completely different. The soy formula burns slower than most candles I’ve purchased in the past, they also last a lot longer than most other brands I’ve tried.

The Christmas collection features wax melts and reed diffusers so you can choose which product works best with your household. One thing I really like about the Christmas candle is the glass jar and festive design – it makes the perfect centre piece for the dinner table or little addition to the mantle piece.

Horgabost

img_1825

“Stimulating and sensual – evoking the tranquil beauty of an exotic eastern garden. Top notes of tangy lemongrass, Sicilian lemons and juicy limes lead into a heart of spicy ginger root and grated nutmeg, and a hint of refreshing eucalyptus. Base notes include sensual patchouli, white woods and creamy vanilla.”

This candle is very different from their other collections, this luxury scent is incredibly refreshing – the citrus burst makes you feel instantly uplifted, to me, this is the ideal scent to burn in the morning or to have in the bathroom.

I recently went for dinner at Sketch, the famous French restaurant in Mayfair, London and I remembered they has numerous Diptyque candles burning – the scent was very fresh and citrus based much like the Horgabost collection. When I first smelt this candle, I was reminded of that night – the scents are practically identical however Diptyque candles start at £40, four times the price of Buth Bheag’s collection! Not only do they use the very best ingredients – each scent is blended to perfection. What I love about this brand is the fact you can enjoy luxury in your home for less.

The deisgn of the Horgabost collection is similar to their previous collections with a minimal design. The chic packaging gives them a sophisticated edge and the greyscale beach scene on the sides is a reminder that each and every candle has been hand poured in the beautiful Isle of Harris.

WHEN IN DOUBT, CHANEL.

img_1050

So as some of you may already know I’ve relocated back to my hometown of London and last week my good friend and fellow blogger babe Lauren came down to see me before an event – which called for shopping! We visited the one and only Selfridges first and browsed the designer jewellery sections on the first floor and that’s when I fell in love…

img_1170

In the Chanel section, I spotted a coin style necklace on one of the mannequins which they’d styled with a classic two piece blazer and skirt suit. The necklace caught my eye as soon as I walked in because of its intricate detail and striking design. After seeing the full selection and trying on several items, Lauren and I decided to go to the Chanel flagship store on New Bond Street to browse their collection and compare it to Selfridges.

When we arrived I basically became the love heart eye emoji and got a little bit excited about the new A/W accessories campaign, not to mention the ready to wear capsule collection on the first floor! When one of the advisers approached us, I explained what I had seen at the Selfridges concession and the assistant then showed us their jewellery display. The Chanel flagship had a much bigger and varied selection of jewellery, I would recommend visiting the store as opposed to Selfridges, I would point out that the service is much better at the Chanel store too.

The necklace itself is timeless. The medallion style is similar to the vintage Chanel pieces which sell for over £16,000 on the vintage classic markets and the rich deep golden colour gives it that high end designer edge.

img_1163

What I like best about the necklace is how you can adjust it to suit your mood. The necklace has two length options both of which I love.

img_1172

When the necklace is set to its shorter length which is near enough a choker style, the excess golden chain hangs down your back with the tiny Chanel logo at the bottom. This style is absolutely ideal to wear with backless dresses along with a slick up-do to show off the stunning design.

img_1171

The second longer setting is the one I choose to wear on a day to day basis as it looks fabulous either over a top or hanging down underneath a shirt.

img_1162

For anyone looking for that perfect accessory to add instant style to any outfit this necklace is for you. It’s the perfect combination of class and elegance, its understated small detailing  is eye catching in an enchanting way. I find a lot of designer necklaces to be very ‘in your face’ and brash – this piece is the opposite.

Another benefit to this necklace is that the beautiful design is so striking that it doesn’t need earrings, bracelets or even rings to match. Less really is more when it comes to accessorising an outfit.

TRUE BRIT LONDON | SPRING COLLECTION REVIEW

IMG_5507.JPG

I’ve been a huge fan of luxury nail lacquer brand True Brit London for a while now, being a Londoner myself it feels so good to wear and support a brand that are so proud of being British and centre their entire brand around my favourite city; London!

Since their launch back in 2014, I’ve had the privilege of reviewing their extensive selection of beautifully crafted nail lacquers for you (you can catch up on previous posts here). Their Spring Collection however is a little different; each nail varnish has a soft glittery shimmer making them light reflective and even more eye-catching!

SO, lets start with the colours! First off, they are all to die for, Spring is my favourite time of the year and their carefully developed colour palette consisting of beautiful blues & perfect pinks pretty much sums up what Spring is all about;  each unique and perfectly packaged shade has it’s own personality – making them the perfect addition to your favourite summer dress.

‘RAINY DAY’

Rainy-Day

Rainy day is the summer pastel blue. For me, when it comes to styling this shade, it looks incredible with an all white outfit; the muted blue tone is a stand alone show stopper. I would recommend taking this shade on holiday & pair with chunky silver rings for the ultimate bohemian look. Feeling blue? Shop ‘Rainy Day’ here.

‘STREET PARTY’

Street-Party.jpg

This one is for my Queens & Princesses, the candy pink colour makes ‘Street Party’ look edible, it’s the sweetest shade of the S/S collection and looks stunning on all skin tones. Make the colour pop by teaming up with a floral outfit & Party this way!

‘BOAT RACE’

I am totally obsessed with this peachy hue, it’s not only bang on trend but the sparkly orange colour is simply perfect for festivals, holidays, BBQ’s or traditional English garden parties! Team this nail colour with matching peachy orange lipstick ‘Sexy Sienna’ by Charlotte Tilbury for extra style points.  If this is the shade for you, shop here.

‘APPLES & PEARS’

IMG_5532

My pick from True Brit London’s S/S collection.

‘Apples & Pears’ is the ideal nail lacquer for S/S, when I opened the box I instantly fell in love with the Turquoise colour!  This versatile shade can be worn with a range of coloured clothing making it the ideal varnish for daily wear. When I’m wearing it, it puts me in a good mood (if you think this sounds silly, you haven’t worn True Brit!) the vibrant and eye catching colour is like nothing I’ve worn before, it reminds me of the ocean and sipping cocktails on the beach, the ultimate mermaid nail varnish.

BECCIOSHEA.COM LOVES ‘APPLES & PEARS’ by TRUE BRIT LONDON, The Spring Collection Available NOW!

Like every single one of their nail laquers, the Spring collection is no different, each shade contains the same nourishing formula infused with Vitamin E, Elderflower & Rose extracts that protect and look after your nails underneath. The experts at True Brit London always recommend using the best selling ‘Caviar Base Coat’ and ‘Gloss Top Coat’ for extended wear and salon finish.

I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading about True Brit London’s brand new S/S Collection and I can’t wait for you all to see for yourself how beautiful the new colours are!

OXFORD TRIP

        IMG_7263

I’m back from the most amazing trip to Oxford, this has been my first time visiting and it’s been incredible! I went down with my family and stayed in a beautiful house, the bedroom I stayed in had views over the river and waterfalls, it was magical!

The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens which to me, were the best part of the house, the river runs all the way through and has lots of little bridges so that you can cross over to the other side and discover hidden secret spots. There is also a tennis court and a swimming pond section of the river which I wish I was brave enough to have used because the water is so clear! Plus, there’s a huge maze just by the side of the house which has been designed to take on the form of lots of different shapes, animals and objects. Just. WOW.

I’m missing Oxford lots now I’m home, playing in the gardens searching for otters and crayfish by the lake was just magical. It reminded me of the south of France – the setting was so idyllic. I hope to visit Oxford again soon and would recommend this area of the UK to anyone looking for a peaceful break which is still close to home.
